Mino Raiola issued a new statement on the future of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, hinting that a transfer in January will not be possible.
Raiola dropped a bombshell last week on the eve of United’s game against RB Leipzig, claiming that Pogba’s career at United had “ended” while promoting a return to the former Juventus team.
Pogba broke his silence on Raiola’s comments on Instagram following United’s Premier League draw against Manchester City and publicly defended his agent for reports published in German media Bild.
Raiola previously urged United to authorize a transfer for his client, who is signed until 2022 at Old Trafford, but believes a summer departure is the most likely outcome.
“Pogba will have a great future,” Raiola said. “In England, they are very sensitive when it comes to Pogba. I just expressed my thoughts. I have said that Paul can leave in the summer, it is difficult to make big deals in January.”
United is preparing for a visit to Sheffield United on Thursday night.
