Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori has expressed his enthusiasm after winning his first major trophy with the Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

The Buccaneers ended their six-year trophy drought when they beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 in the final of the MTN 8 tournament.

Goals from Deon Hotto and Thembinkosi Lorch presented the coveted trophy to the Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Ofori practically won the trophy for the Buccaneers with his saves in the game.

The 26-year-old stopped a powerful point-blank header with his right foot at the end to preserve the Pirates’ lead.

Ofori took to his Instagram page to show his joy at lifting the trophy.

“Showing gratitude is one of the simplest but most powerful things that human beings can do for each other.” I would like to thank everyone who has participated in this journey from the beginning. It is the beginning of many victories and I am very grateful to have been a part of this story that has been written tonight. A special thank you to my lovely family, a special thank you to a committed team @Orlandopirates, and glory to the Lord God. Many thanks to the Orlando Pirates family, fans, friends and the media for spreading the love and support … God bless you. “
