The former president of Confiscated Vehicles under the former Atta Mills regime, Carl Wilson, has asked the nation to insist on the mandate that Ghanaians have given to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament.
The founder of Move Ghana said that Ghanaians have given the presidency to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a majority seat in the NDC Parliament and that no attempt should be made to change this. .
Wilson spoke in an interview with Onua FM’s Yen Sempa as he reacted to the uproar in the NPP and NDC parliamentary seats after the 2020 parliamentary elections.
“Akufo-Addo has won the presidency; let’s give it to him. The NDC has won the majority in Parliament … let’s give them the opportunity to have checks and balances in the system, ”he urged.
Citing the Bible to shore up his point on the division of government, Mr. Wilson said: “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s, which is the foundation of peace in the Bible.”
“We empowered a person and they do what they want. Nothing should be done to remove Parliament from the NDC because that could bring chaos, “he warned.
In addition, he noted that “we are playing with the image of Ghana and the world will make fun of us as a nation.”
Mr. Wilson noted that “Ghana will be better served if we divide power. Ghanaians voted to change the government system and not let anyone change that. “
“The NDC did the same and the NPP is doing the same, but this time, the people of Ghana want these two parties to work together. NDC MPs have won to give it to you. Scientifically, I think the NDC has won the majority in Parliament. “
The founder of Move Ghana said “if President Akufo-Addo wants, we are going to a second round and there is no way he will lose the presidency. The people of Ghana have given him the presidency. He should leave the parliamentary seats to the NDC and the nation will be better served. “
Commenting on the outgoing MP from the central Tamale constituency Inusah Abdulai Bistav Fuseini’s call for former President Mahama to declare himself president of Ghana and have a parallel government in Ghana, Mr. Wilson emphasized: with Inusah ”.
“This is not the time to inflame things. It is time to calm things down ”.
