Crystal Palace has not beaten Tottenham in the Premier League since January 2015
Jeffrey Schlupp scored a late tie for Crystal Palace after a mistake by Hugo Lloris to deny leader Tottenham’s victory ahead of their top-of-the-table game in Liverpool on Wednesday.
Harry Kane put the Spurs on course for a sixth win in seven league games with a shot from 30 yards that Vicente Guaita should have saved.
Spaniard Guaita had kept the Spurs at bay with three excellent saves to deny Tanguy Ndombele, Sergio Reguilon and Kane before being caught by the England captain’s long-range diversion attempt.
But Palace, who hit the post through Eberechi Eze, deservedly equalized when Schlupp tied the tie after Lloris spilled a free kick from Eze.
In the dramatic final minutes, Spurs substitute Ben Davies hit the crossbar, while Guaita made a spectacular save to avoid a free kick from Eric Dier.

Spurs frustrated by Guaita
Tottenham’s 22nd competitive game of 2020-21 looked for so long as if it were going to be a case of work done ahead of their biggest test of the season midweek.
But José Mourinho’s team was thwarted by Guaita, whose action to the death to deny Dier was one of the best saves of the Premier League season.
Dier’s play seemed to be heading towards the net until the Palace keeper dived across his line to deflect it with one hand.
Despite extending their unbeaten streak in the league to 11 games, this will feel like they’ve lost two points to the visitors.
In a highly competitive London derby, they had looked like a team at the top of the table when Guaita ducked down to deny Ndombele from close range before flipping Reguilon’s attempt and then stopping Kane’s header in the space of a few first. half a minute
Kane’s ninth goal in the league was a gift, Guaita misjudged his shot and failed to make what should have been a routine save.
Palace responded well, but seemed ready to end the game without any reward for his effort until Schlupp pounced on Lloris’ mistake.
Asked after the game about the mistake of the French goalkeeper, Mourinho said: “Hugo is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League.”
Brave point to fight Palace
This was a well-deserved point for Palace, which marked the return of fans to Selhurst Park with a courageous and character-filled performance.
Even before falling behind, Wilfried Zaha forced Lloris to make a good save while, shortly before half-time, the impressive Eze beat the Spurs goalkeeper just because of his attempt to hit the post.
Christian Benteke, who had just scored two in West Brom’s 5-1 demolition in the previous game, had two header opportunities before Schlupp walked away to celebrate with the fans after making it 1-1.
Guaita’s save at the end to deny Dier raised the roof, leaving manager Roy Hodgson beaming.
You won’t want to see Kane’s goal again, but the keeper showed great character to bounce back and produce a series of impressive saves when Spurs threatened a second goal.
