Tottenham Urges Midfielder Dele Alli To Fight For A Place, Club Against Loan Change – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Score, Results

Tottenham have told Dele Alli to fight for his place and he is expected to resist a loan approach to him in the winter transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Alli after failed attempts to sign him on loan in the summer.

Reports on Sunday suggest Tottenham will grant a permanent move, but would consider a six-month loan.

However, club sources have told Sky Sports News that they do not want the midfielder to go on loan.

The 24-year-old Alli has scored two goals in his eight appearances this season, but has not started a Premier League game since a home loss to Everton on the first weekend of the season.

His last appearance in the top flight was as a substitute in a 6-1 win over Manchester United more than two months ago.

Alli was an unused substitute in Thursday’s 2-0 Europa League win over Royal Antwerp and briefly left down the tunnel when it became apparent that he was not going to enter the field before returning several minutes later to the game over.

Later José Mourinho was forced to defend the action of his player. “Let’s not run away from reality, a player on the bench who realizes with five changes that he is not one of them, of course he is not a happy player and he would not expect it,” said the Spurs coach.

“But every player who is on the bench, or leaves the field with me when it’s cold, can go to the locker room and I even prefer that to happen.

Alli, who reached double goals in his first three Premier League seasons following his move from MK Dons in 2015, has yet to make his position clear.
