National Security makes different pink sheets to exonerate CE – Asiedu Nketia alleges | Politics

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has claimed that National Security agents are printing different pink sheets to make a strong case in favor of the Electoral Commission (EC) after they accused the EC of producing erroneous results.

NDC Secretary General Johnson Asiedu Nketia said at an emergency press conference at the party headquarters in Accra on Thursday, December 10, that the results that were released by Commission Chairman Jean Mensah do not reflect the realities of what happened in the recently completed surveys.

To that end, he said, new pink sheets are being created to support the results that are in doubt.

“They will have to declare the actual results of the 2020 elections,” he said.

The EC, in a statement issued on Thursday, December 10, stated that its president, Jean Mensa, “inadvertently used 13,433,573 as the total valid votes cast.”

“The total of valid votes cast is 13,119,460. This does not change the percentages established for each candidate and the statement made by the President, ”said an EC statement issued on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in the morning.

He had already announced on Wednesday that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo obtained 6,730,413, which represents 51.595% while John Mahama obtained 6, 214, 889 representing 47.366% in the eighth election of the IV Republic that had a dozen of candidates.

In reaction to this, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said: “The commission had to go back to recalculate the results and has since presented figures to contradict its previous statement.

“What is the value of the initial statement or the following one? Which of the results should we assess? Neither of them represents reality.

“We are aware of the efforts of National Security to try to manufacture pink sheets that adapt to the responses that have been given.”
