Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, has described the renewal of President Akufo-Addo by the people of Ghana as a tacit acceptance of his policies and interventions.
He said the victory also showed the popularity of the president who gave him high marks.
Dr. Letsa spoke to the Ghana News Agency after the Election Commission (EC) statement of results after Monday’s elections, said the doors of President Akufo-Addo’s marriage to the region have started to open. and pay dividends.
“The political marriage between the Region and the New Patriotic Party (PNP) begins to open up as events unfold.”
He said that the Region is historically and traditionally biased by the United Party (UP), but the emergence of the late Jerry John Rawlings on the political platform changed this dynamic and it is up to the Party to reestablish this relationship, which must be firmly communicated to the people.
The regional minister said that the party’s fortunes held firm under the government of President Akufo-Addo, as many paths were being made to show an emerging political market for the party in the region, in the future.
Dr. Letsa said that the people of the Region should be assured of development in the second term of the PNP-led government, regardless of the voting pattern, with statistics available showing the improvement and annexation of Hohoe’s parliamentary seat.
He said Ghanaians have spoken out loud as well, but urge people to stay calm and ignore any other misinformation and propaganda emanating from the opposition camp.
He thanked the people of the Region, the security agencies, the media and the political parties for making the general elections peaceful without major incidents.
