The standard bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has hinted that his government will resist any attempt by the current government to subvert the will of the Ghanaian electorate.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he indicated that his party won the majority of seats in parliament after the 2020 elections.
This, he said, gives him an advantage over his opponent.
He also warned the Akufo-Addo government against using security officials to alter the election results.
“We want to warn the government to desist from using the army to subvert the results. We are not going to sit where the will of the people is subverted.
“Some of the things that are happening are unacceptable and Nana Akufo-Addo continues to show very undemocratic credentials,” he emphasized.
Mahama also mentioned that the change of some important seats belonging to the PNP is an indication that the electorate is ready for change.
“It is clear that the people of Ghana want a change in this country, the Ghanaians are tired of the Akufo-Addo government,” he explained.
Mahama used the platform to urge supporters to remain calm before the final verdict of the Election Commission.
