The Electoral Commission has apologized for not being able to declare the results of the 2020 elections within the twenty-four hour framework it promised.
In a press conference held in the early morning of Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Jean Mensa, the president of the commission, attributed the lack to rains in certain parts of the country.
He explained that the rains caused a delay in the casting of votes and the match.
He also mentioned misunderstandings in some districts, such as Techiman South, as a contributing factor to the delay.
Jean Mensa also urged the Ghanaian public to remain calm and trust their outfit.
The Commission apologizes for not being able to declare the Presidential Results at 5:00 pm as scheduled.
