The Electoral Commission has apologized for not being able to declare the results of the 2020 elections within the twenty-four hour framework it promised.

In a press conference held in the early morning of Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Jean Mensa, the president of the commission, attributed the lack to rains in certain parts of the country.

He explained that the rains caused a delay in the casting of votes and the match.
