Jurgen Klopp ‘would sign another Jordan Henderson’ before Kevin de Bruyne or David Silva

Jurgen Klopp would sign another Jordan Henderson before Manchester City superstars Kevin de Bruyne or David Silva.

That’s according to former Liverpool star John Barnes, who claims that is why Klopp is interested in signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

Klopp has never signed for good in Liverpool, and has done his best to attract players who fit his philosophy.

And while De Bruyne and Silva are two of the best players in the Premier League, they don’t fit Klopp’s style and therefore don’t appeal to the German, Barnes says.

“Werner fits the profile of one of the top three,” Barnes told BonusCodeBets.

“That’s what Jurgen Klopp does, look at what he demands of different players in different positions and look for that profile in different players.”

“Timo Werner probably would not be suitable for what Manchester City wants because he’s a different kind of player, he’s very fast, dynamic and direct and that’s what Liverpool’s top three have to do.

“That is the best Jurgen Klopp does. If you are looking for a midfielder, you are not looking for Kevin De Bruyne or David Silva, you are looking for another Jordan Henderson.”

“He knows how he wants his team to play and is looking for players who fit into that system, while other clubs are looking for the best players whom they consider the best players and say we are going to sign him because he is going to score 50.” Goals, but if you don’t like what your team wants, there is no point in signing it.

Liverpool has been linked to a move for Timo Werner before the summer window

“Other clubs have done it. They have looked to see who are the best players and they say ‘I’m going to sign him’ and you can see that sometimes it doesn’t work.

“I think with all the players that Klopp signs with Liverpool, regardless of what other people think of them or how well they are doing or how well known they are, he makes sure they fit in with what he wants.”
