The parliamentary candidate of the Democratic National Congress (NDC) for the electoral district of Ayawaso-West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has requested that the voting process be stopped at the GIMPA Election Table 1 due to the absence of indelible ink.

According to him, Election Commission officials were allowing the process to continue without marking voters’ fingers as standard practice to prevent voters from voting more than once.

He said: “I am disappointed with the process. We don’t have indelible ink here, and they’re allowing the process to continue, which is wrong, which is not right; there must be indelible ink. “

“I suggest they stop the whole process and let them get the ink before continuing. Indelible ink is the surest way to know if you have voted or not. So will people come to vote or what? “

Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) has addressed concerns about the problems in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

The EC in a public announcement said the lapses have led to a late start in voting at certain polling stations within the electoral district.

“The Commission has taken immediate steps to address the situation. Voters who will be in the queue before 5:00 pm will be able to vote, ”the announcement said.

John Dumelo is challenging Lydia Alhassan, the current New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon electoral seat.
