The Ghana Police Service has issued a comment stating that rumors suggesting that some ballot boxes have previously been filled in the Northern Region are not confirmed.

In a post spotted by YEN.com.gh On the verified Facebook identifier of the official government entity, investigations into the observation are already underway.

The Ghana Police Service further stated that updates will be provided in due course when some confirmations are made or otherwise.

Ghana voters go to the polls today [Monday], December 7, 2020, to cast their votes to elect a president and 275 legislators to represent them in parliament.

Latest pre-election analysis predicts Nana Akufo-Addo will get 54% in presidential polls

More than 17 million voters are expected to participate in the December 7 election, having endured a challenging year due to the raging coronavirus pandemic.

The main candidates in the 2020 polls are current President Nana Akufo-Addo, who represents the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP), and the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.

Meanwhile, independent presidential hopeful Marricke Kofi Gane has urged Ghanaians to take a massive step and cast their votes on December 7, 2020.

In a post spotted by YEN.com.gh On the Facebook personal identifier of the leader of the Gane4Ghana movement, Marricke said Ghanaians should do this even if they don’t like any of the political figures on the ballot.

Gane explained that surely one of the presidential candidates will win and rule Ghana for four years, so Ghanaians must take charge and choose which one will.
