Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo vs John Dramani Mahama: Ghana 2020 Election Economics and Corruption Scorecard

The 2020 Ghana elections are primarily held between two candidates who once served as President of Ghana in the past eight years.

Former President John Dramani Mahama of the Democratic National Congress and incumbent President Nana Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party are the top contestants for the 2020 Ghana presidential race.

Willing to ask for four more years to make Ghana great again.

Let’s take a look at some key sectors, where applicants promise against what they achieve during the first term.

NDC Manifesto Promise for 2012

• Maintain an average annual growth rate of at least 8%

PNP Manifesto Promise for 2016

To build the most business and pipo-friendly African economy, we will create jobs and prosperity for all Ghanaians.

Achieve double-digit GDP growth annually for four years

Reduce the cost of doing business, maintain financial discipline, reduce government loans

and reducing interest rates to incentivize private companies.
