The 2020 Ghana elections are primarily held between two candidates who once served as President of Ghana in the past eight years.

Former President John Dramani Mahama of the Democratic National Congress and incumbent President Nana Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party are the top contestants for the 2020 Ghana presidential race.

Willing to ask for four more years to make Ghana great again.

Let’s take a look at some key sectors, where applicants promise against what they achieve during the first term.

Economy

• Maintain a single digit inflation rate;

• Guarantee the stability of the exchange rate

• Reduce debt significantly

• Maintain an average annual growth rate of at least 8%

PNP Manifesto Promise for 2016

To build the most business and pipo-friendly African economy, we will create jobs and prosperity for all Ghanaians.

From the table, it is shown that under the NDC government led by di Mahama, Ghana recorded a GDP growth of 15,836, although it would be an average of 3,959% annual growth.

The government led by Akufo did not register an accumulated growth of 21,784% and translates into an average of 5,446%.

This means saying that Ghana’s GDP does not grow lower under a NPP moment than with an NDC.

Corruption

PNP Manifesto for the 2016 Promise;

To commit ourselves to establishing a strong and efficient machinery for good governance, we will settle for a responsible commitment and respect for the rule of law and human rights.

One of the things we promise to do is establish, by law of Parliament, the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which will be independent from the Executive,

The special prosecutor will investigate and prosecute certain categories of cases and complaints of corruption and other criminal offenses. All this to ensure transparency for the moment.

NDC Manifesto for the 2012 Promise;

Support gidigba to fight political corruption and immorality

For the manifesto, the party’s promise to use the party’s 2008 promise to execute the 2012 political mandate.

For 2008, di NDC goment promises to deepen political accountability and transparency, disclose budgets, public expenditures, and procedures.

For a statement on the release of the NPP after the resignation of the Special Prosecutor on Monday, November 17, 2020, the party says the record of corruption under the leadership of the NDC is the worst.

Di NDC’s Di Flagbearer, John Mahama, during the September 7 Manifesto launch for di University for Professional Studies, Accra condemned NDC’s performance on corruption.

Based on what we obtain from the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) report, the Transparency Index published every year to provide information on the presence of corruption in public office at a particular time.

Even though the CPI report for 2020 neva comot, the worst CPI score (highest perception of corruption) under di Mahama goment beta passed the best CPI score (lowest corruption perception) at the time of the CN Akufo-Addo.

This means that di Mahama led the NDC government to handle corruption and go through the government of the Akufo Addo nuclear power plant.

So now element number three, which makes the elections in Ghana exciting, let’s say this year, Ghanaians choose between a government that builds infrastructure or a government that strengthens the economy.

The opposition NDC John Mahama dey campaigned on the grounds of infrastructure achievements between 2012-2016.

He built world-class hospitals, roads as circular interchanges, a new terminal for the Ghana airport, things that more Ghanaians start to appreciate after they show that I am without power.

Meanwhile, Prez Akufo-Addo also campaigned on a record of economic transformation, growth in agriculture through planting for food and jobs, cleaning up the banking sector, and managing things from the lair of the COVID-19 pandemic. .

If Ghanaians vote to give NDC, it means they prefer the physical infrastructure, but if they keep Prez Akufo-Addo, it means they prefer to say the government is going to build the economy.
