The Bono regional branch of the United Progressive Party (UPP) has given its support to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next general elections scheduled for Monday, December 7.

“We, the entire leadership and membership of the UPP in the Bono region, after consultations and discussions with stakeholders, unanimously agreed to offer our fullest support to the former president, HE John Dramani Mahama and Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman and the NDC parliamentary candidates in the Bono region will seize power from the PNP and HE Nana Akufo-Addo for their bad governance and leadership, ”said Salifu Khalidu, regional chairman of the Bono party at a press conference in Sunyani yesterday.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has failed Ghanaians since taking office just four years ago, saying that “President Akufo-Addo and his nuclear power plant government are not carrying out any infrastructure projects and are continuing telling Ghanaians “free SHS”. Perhaps, this free SHS that the nuclear power plant boasts would have been run under the trees if the former president had not invested in the education sector in building electronic blocks … ”

Mr. Khalidu also complained about insecurity and low investor confidence as some of his reasons for launching camps with the NDC.

“Ghanaians regret having voted for the NPP in power while Ghana’s economy is bleeding to death – there is no work for young people, businesses are collapsing due to poor governance by President Nana Akufo-Addo and her NPP government.”

“We believe that the one who will save Ghanaians from this threat is JDM and Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman from the NDC,” he further said.
