Zidane: I never felt untouchable – Ghana soccer latest news, live scores, results

Zinedine Zidane has been receiving criticism lately due to Real Madrid’s poor performances, but is aware that his job could be in jeopardy at all times.

The Frenchman has explained that he will try to help his team regain its form despite going through a difficult stage both in LaLiga Santander and in Europe.

“I never thought that I am untouchable, neither as a player, nor as a coach nor as a person,” Zidane said at his press conference prior to the clash against Sevilla. “I am here to live this until the last day.

“It’s my position, that’s right. When you don’t win, that’s the way it is. It is normal that there are criticisms, but they will not change what I think.

“There have been other difficult moments. This is the present and I feel strong to find the solutions. What we want is to play a good game.”

Zidane believes that Saturday’s game against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan Stadium is a golden opportunity for the team to recover.

“We know the situation and we want to compete,” added Zidane. “It is another opportunity to turn the page and I trust my players. I know that the situation is complicated, we have lived a similar situation many times.

“The most important thing is to score points tomorrow [against Sevilla]. We have a great game against a very good opponent and we like games like this.

“I completely believe that I have the support of the club. I can’t be happy when we lose a game, but we know where we are.

“It is fortunate to fight for this club and that is what I am going to do until the last day. And the players too.

“What the players want is to compete and they have always shown their affection, but it is not the most important thing.

“I have been a player here, also a coach. I know the history I have with this club and, sometimes, it is true that things do not go well for us. Sometimes we forget. Let’s get together and be on the same path and we are sure that they will go ahead “.

The French coach stressed that he will not risk playing with Sergio Ramos against Sevilla if he is not in top form to avoid a setback due to injury.

“We are not going to risk anything with Sergio Ramos, as with everyone,” said Zidane. “I don’t want any setbacks for the injured players.

“We will see how we will do it tomorrow. I prefer to have all the players at my disposal.”
