The president of the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo, has been appointed to the newly formed 10-member Accra Great Olympics Board of Directors.
Absent from the council is former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Fred Pappoe, who over the years seems to have preferred to remain a follower without any leadership role.
The club’s family leaders over the years include Alhaji Tallal Fatal, His Excellency Amarkai Amarteifio and Oluboi Commodore, who is currently the Club’s General Manager.
The new members are Nik Amartefio, Kwame Asuah Takyi and Professor Albert Sackey. Perry Doku and Ambassador R.O Solomon round out the board members with Kwesi Austin as secretary.
Fianoo joins the board with vast experience as an administrator, having served as a member of the Executive Committee (now Executive Council) from 2005 to 2011.
He led Ashanti Gold as Executive Director (CEO) for ten years, earning the league title for Miners in 2015.
Fianoo and Ambassador RO Solomon were part of the Ghana FA team that traveled to South Africa to study how PSL is managed and are expected to bring their experience to help catapult the “Agorsue” family into being competitive.
The Board will convene a meeting later this month to define the objectives they intend to achieve.
