The ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) has dismissed accusations of corruption leveled against President Akufo-Addo by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a press conference on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, a deputy campaign manager for the party, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, said that when unethical people like the NDC take over the governance of a country, which happened to Ghana before 2016 is what happens.
“So, they are resorting to launching fake videos alleging corruption by the president. It will not wash off. Do you take old videos of a campaign donation and distort them, making it look like a recent video? Come on! Is the NDC that incompetent even to fake things? And listen to the false explanation: that the president accepted a bribe of $ 40,000? (160,000 in 2016 terms?) Pathetic souls! “
“Governance is serious business. When unethical people like those in the NDC take over the governance of a country, what happened to Ghana before 2016 is what happens. You have a demoralized society, collapsed businesses, a bankrupt financial sector, a collapsed educational system and a bankrupt economy, “he added.
Therefore, he has urged Ghanaians to reject the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, on December 7, 2020.
According to the party, the former president lacked the finesse and insight needed to propel Ghana to the next level of development.
Have you seen that JM is now rewriting the entire NDC manifesto? JM has absolutely no faith in manifestos. He doesn’t believe in them. He sees them as empty rituals that are only part of the requirements for running a campaign.
“But it’s even worse if you don’t believe your own manifesto. You can be indecisive with everything and anything. But can’t you be shy with a manifesto too? Abdul-Hamid said.
