Dozens of supporters of the Democratic National Congress gathered at the police station
The New Patriotic Party, NPP, Eastern Issue constituency, has denied allegations that its parliamentary candidate Titus Glover was behind the arrest and detention of the NDC parliamentary candidate.
Dozens of supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) within the constituency of Tema Este on Monday night gathered at the police station of the Community of Tema 11 to demand the release of their parliamentary candidate for the area, Nii Ashai Odampten .
According to information gathered by Ohene Gyan Piesie of Hot News, the parliamentary candidate was detained by the police for failing to comply with a bail condition granted by a court in Accra on charges of alleged embezzlement while he was mayor of Tema.
Since then, he has been released. Some of the NDC supporters who spoke to Hot News’ Ohene Gyan Piesie accused Titus Glover of being behind the arrest.
Meanwhile, PNP East Issue electoral district secretary Nene Sackitey has denied the allegations.
Rather, he accuses the NDC of destroying the nuclear power plant office.
