Andre Ayew was named Official Player of the Match when his team, Swansea City, beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in the championship on Sunday.

Connor Roberts’ first goal of the season helped the Swans rack up points and move to fourth place in the table.

The winger headed the only goal of the game in the 43rd minute.

Ayew was returning to the starting lineup after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered during the international FIFA event.

His ball inside the box was deflected in the air, and Roberts followed hard to beat Ameobi to the ball and headed for the far corner.

The Ghana captain nearly doubled the lead early in the second half, but his shot went wide after good work from Jake Bidwell and Matt Grimes down the left.

Ayew confirmed her award in a Tweet: ” 3 points away from home ⚪️⚫️ I love it! Great shift guys❤️ we continue … 🦢 MOTM. ”
