All three 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match day matches between Legon Cities and Medeama ended in a fascinating goalless draw played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
Medeama started the game with her front foot controlling the tempo.
The home side, despite their slow start, was about to take the lead in the opening minutes, but Nathaniel Akwah’s free kick was hit off the crossbar by Medeama goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.
Midway through the first half saw some good exchanges of the good ones with some end-to-end action.
Medeama nearly took the lead in the 26th minute with a superb free kick by Eric Kwakwa, but the crossbar saved the blush from Legon Cities goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda.
Medeama was largely the dominant team in the first half and was able to take the lead in the 33rd minute, but the post again rescued the hosts.
The first part ended goalless.
The Legon Cities, desperate to seek their first win of the season, started the second half with more attack intent.
Baba Mahama came close to giving the home side the lead, but his well-hit shot was blocked by Medeama goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.
Without a doubt, the home team was in the lead in the second half and put intense pressure on Medeama’s defense.
The Black Stars’ all-time goalscorer Asamoah Gyan finally made his Legon Cities debut as he looks to help them overcome their opponents.
The game suddenly came to life with some end-to-end action on both ends of the field with Legon Cities looking very dangerous, especially with the introduction of Gyan.
But they lacked the vanguard and shared the points with the visiting team.
