Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has suffered a new injury, putting the Whites in another difficult situation.
The Whites have suffered bad luck from injuries in the 2020-2021 season, and have a new injury to deal with before Saturday’s game against Deportivo Alavés. Right-back Dani Carvajal had just returned from a knee injury after a surprisingly quick recovery, playing well against Villarreal and Inter Milan.
But now he is injured again and could be out for the next games. We can’t make an exact prediction of how long he might be away, but it could be a matter of weeks.
Real Madrid will face Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday after Alavés. Then next weekend, they have a great game in Seville. The following week, Real Madrid have even tougher matches against Borussia Monchengladbach to close out the Champions League and their toughest rivals for the La Liga title at Atlético de Madrid.
So yes, there is nothing easier for the men of Zinedine Zidane without Carvajal available. He’s one of the top three right-backs in the world and someone the team can’t really replace. Álvaro Odriozola’s injury only makes it even more difficult for Zidane to occupy Carvajal’s place in the starting eleven.
But there are three players who can step into Los Blancos and ease the defeat.
