President Akufo-Addo has said that the policy of free secondary education and seeding for food and jobs (FSY) are his greatest achievements.

He recognized other significant successes in many fields that had changed the Ghanaian economy and transformed lives.

The president spoke Friday in an interview on a Cape Coast-based FM station as part of his two-day tour of the Central Region.

Reacting to the intense debate over who introduced the SHS Free Education Policy, he mockingly said that: “There is no need to waste time, fighting and arguing over who introduced the Policy.”

“It is very clear and all Ghanaians know that it was President Akufo-Addo who promised and has delivered.”

On Wednesday, the president expressed disbelief at the claims of the Democratic National Congress presidential candidate, former President John Dramani Mahama, that he (Mahama) started free upper secondary school.

He said that recent polls by the Department of Political Science at the University of Ghana and Mr Ben Ephson, Editor of the Ghana Observer, were welcoming the news, but that the New Patriotic Party would not be complacent.

He will work assiduously to retain power in the upcoming December elections, he said.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated the government’s commitment to develop the country’s human resource base and prioritize improving education as it has done since taking office.

On FSY, the president explained that when the New Patriotic Party (PNP) took power in 2017, food production was low, hence the innovative movement to shore up production to ensure food security.

The program, which launched in Goaso in April 2017, in the then Brong Ahafo region, was aimed at empowering all farmers to create jobs, reduce poverty with better agronomic practices, technology and extensive extension services to improve yields. Of crops.

That, said the President, was the way to modernize agriculture through its five modules; – food crops, plantation for export and rural development, villages with greenhouse technology, breeding for food and employment and agricultural mechanization services.

He prayed to the electorate to vote for the Party to sustain the economic gains made to improve the standard of living of the people.
