Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has praised Mohamed Elneny and believes the Egyptian will be an integral part of his team this season.
Elneny has re-established herself at Arsenal and has established herself as an essential asset in Mikel Arteta’s plans following his transfer from Besiktas last year.
The 28-year-old has made a total of 11 appearances this season in all competitions for Arsenal, impressing in his win against Manchester United earlier this month.
His impressive performances sparked reports of a possible contract extension at Emirates Stadium after many thought Elneny’s career at Arsenal was over.
Speaking about the midfielder, Jack Wilshere praised Elneny and is confident that the Egyptian will be key to Arsenal’s success this season.
“I spent a year with Mohamed Elneny at Arsenal, and he is someone I like to play with, someone who has a different personality,” Wilshere told Al-Arabiya.

“It is difficult for any player to go on loan for a season but he was a key player when he returned to Arsenal.
“And I think it will be one of the reasons for Arsenal’s success this season,” he added.

Wilshere has been with Arsenal since 2001 and rose through the ranks at the club before leaving the Gunners in 2018 to join West Ham on a free transfer.
However, the 28-year-old has only been able to make just 19 appearances in two seasons for West Ham due to injuries. He has been a free agent since October, when his time with the Hammers came to an unfortunate end.
