When JM talks about improving the Free SHS policy randomly implemented by Nana Akufo-Addo, he was serious and has an excellent track record in delivering the much-needed infrastructure that affects our secondary education.

Successive NDC governments have a history of improving national policies and programs for the betterment of Ghanaians. I will only highlight a few examples to illustrate my point.

For example, the NPP implemented district-based mutual health insurance after it was piloted by the NDC government led by Jerry Rawlings in the late 1990s.

The NDC led by Professor Mills-Mahama came to power and turned it into a national health insurance program, where it was possible to access medical care anywhere in Ghana with a valid NHIS card, regardless of where it was registered in the NHIS, one had the right to health service. .

Between 2003 and 2008, NHIS subscribers were unable to access NHIS services outside of the District in which one had registered and received their card. It was simply a district-based mutual health insurance plan. It was under the Mills-Mahama government that it was improved through health facilities and increased coverage. It became a truly national health insurance where you can access NHIS services at any accredited health center anywhere in Ghana.

The reforms introduced by the Mills-Mahama administration are what moved the NHIS into an NHIA authority and kept the scheme in operation to date.

Again in 2009, precisely on January 6, a day for the handover to a new government of the NDC, President John Agyekum Kufuor announced the single column salary policy of a 34% increase in salaries of the workers in the public sector without any financial or implementation arrangements of any kind. instead.

It took the brave Mills-Mahama government to find the resources to successfully implement the unique wage structure that Ghana’s public sector workers enjoy today.

When NYEP / GYEEDA and YEA were launched, it did not have legislative backing from 2006 to 2008. Again, it was necessary for the previous NDC government under Mahama-Amissah-Arthur to adjust the policy with the appropriate legislation. Today, YEA runs smoothly and without the problems that NPP left it with in 2008.

So when Mahama and NDC say they WILL IMPROVE FREE SHS EDUCATION in Ghana, you have concrete evidence in the past to believe in Mahama and NDC and vote massively for the John & Jane ticket.

The reasons include:

1) Mahama introduced FREE PROGRESSIVE SHS EDUCATION IN GHANA,

2) To ensure that all students had access to free quality SHS, launched the construction of SHS 200 community days across the country. This would have helped prevent double track under Akufo-Addo if SHS’s 200 schools had been continued and continued by this government running a confusing and ineffective dual track education system.

So, dear voter, don’t be fooled by Akufo Addo. Vote for John Mahama to come and continue with Free SHS that he started and was about to expand. Vote for NDC, so Ghanaians can get a proper free SHS system that is quality and effective. Vote for John Mahama and Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
