The black princesses of Ghana (women under 20), on Thursday 26 November, lost 1 to zero to Morocco in an international friendly at the Accra sports stadium.
Moroccan striker Banouk Safa scored the only goal of the match in the 38th minute to give the visitors victory over the Black Princesses.
After the first match, the Black Princesses struggled to find a draw, but it was useless.
Coach Yusif Basigi’s team threw more players forward in search of an equalizer, but the Moroccans defended bravely to protect their goal.
Ghana’s main forward, Mukarama Abdulai, did not play an effective game as she missed some decent opportunities that came their way.
Boaduwa Evelyn, Kundock Peterson Patience, Suzzy Dede Teye and Azumah Bugri received stiff opposition from the Moroccan midfield.
Tayar Oumaima, Barchi Jihan and Banouk Safa, the scorer, were a handful for Ghana’s defense.
The coaches reorganized their teams bringing in new legs, but the Moroccans did very well to prevent the princesses from finding the back of the net when the game ended 1-0 in their favor.
The two teams are using friendly matches to prepare for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in 2021.
The two sides will meet again on Monday, November 30, in another friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium.
