Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy explained how he was able to quickly settle into the club after his arrival in the summer.

The Senegalese international was signed from Rennes over the summer and has become a key member of Frank Lampard’s team.

The 28-year-old has managed to keep seven clean sheets in 10 appearances so far and has been praised for his influence on and off the court.

“Everyone has done everything possible to help me integrate as smoothly as possible, the players, the squad, everyone has helped me,” he revealed.

“I respond to that by dedicating myself to being the best goalkeeper I can be on the field, doing what I can every day in training and in games. I will continue like this to continue trying to help the team.

“I have joined a very good club. I feel good in this team. I have met them and I have gained an affinity with them that helps during matches. Of course with Kurt and Thiago they speak French, which is good for me, but I can also communicate well with the other players and I’m really enjoying it. “

Mendy and Chelsea’s next mission is a London derby against leader Tottenham over the weekend, and the goalkeeper is already waiting for him.

“The aim now is to have a good game against Tottenham on Sunday,” added the 28-year-old.

“I do not think beyond that. We want to maintain the good streak we have had, and for that we need to maintain those high levels in training and in the game itself,” he added.

The Blues are currently third in the standings with 18 points, two of their opponents from the weekend.
