The president of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs Jean Mensa, has promised Ghanaians peaceful elections in 2020.
According to her, she believes that God will be with Ghana every step of the way to ensure that the elections are free of violence, free and fair.
In addition to being free from violence, the president of the Electoral Commission says that it will be one of the most timely elections in the country, as the Commission establishes systems to ensure this is achieved.
She said: “As Chairperson of the Commission, I declare in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the son of the living God that the 2020 elections will be peaceful, free of violence, glorious, timely, orderly, wonderful, excellent, victorious and successful. so help us, God ”.
Ghana will go to the polls on December 7 to elect a president and members of parliament for the various electoral districts of the country.
This year, 12 applicants have been authorized to compete in the presidential race. However, what makes the elections unique is the fact that the two main political parties have put forward candidates who have been in office and understand them.
Ghanaians are going to vote based on the background of the two leaders when they were given the mandate to rule the country.
