Ghana’s Election Commission says it has posted the list of special voters on its website for people registered to vote in the special voting exercise on December 1, 2020 to review it carefully.
According to the Election Commission, the Special Voter List comprises the names of Registered Voters from security agencies, the media, and Election Commission personnel who will be working on Election Day.
“Electronic copies of the Special Voter List have also been provided to representatives of organizations participating in the Special Voting so that their members can check their details and locations in advance.
“The publication of the List of Special Voters will allow Registered Special Voters to know in advance their different polling stations. This will promote a fluid and timely electoral process, ”the Electoral Commission said in a press release issued on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
The Commission has reported that all voters registered on the Special Voter List will only be able to cast their vote on December 1, 2020.
“Therefore, it is necessary that applicants take the necessary measures to verify their data to avoid being deprived of their rights, since they will not be allowed to vote on December 7, 2020, in case they lose the Special Voting Center ”Stated the EC.
The Commission noted in the statement that all names on the Special Voter List will not appear in the main register on December 7, 2020.
