Danquah Institute executive director Richard Ahiagbah has described former President John Dramani Mahama’s Big Push promise as another “$ 10 billion scam.”
According to him, former President Mahama is known for leading projects that promise a lot but don’t pay off.
In an interaction with the media on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, Ahiagbah listed some nefarious projects started under the former Mahama administration.
“… Notable among these was the $ 10 billion Hope City project that promised 50,000 jobs and housed 25,000 people in what was supposed to be the tallest building in Africa. The infamous Korean STX housing deal, another $ 10 billion housing deal, which was negotiated by former President Mahama and promised to build some 200,000 affordable units, was repealed by the late President Mills upon realizing it was poorly negotiated. .
He opined that Mahama and the NDC’s ‘Big Push’ infrastructure push is another $ 10 billion initiative aimed at creating jobs while addressing the country’s infrastructure needs and adds “Like the Hope City project and the STX housing, ‘The Big Push’ lacks a clear plan and comprehensive financing agreement to authenticate its viability. Therefore, it should be seen as another one of Mahama’s 10 billion projects. “
