President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has announced that the media and the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) will receive some personal protective equipment (PPE).
This will form part of government aid to front-line workers as they carry out their duties in the wake of the growing Covid-19 cases.
In his 9th At the televised address, he spelled out the list of safety supplies that were delivered to all health facilities as an intervention to ensure that health workers remain protected.
“We are extending this gesture to other front-line workers involved in the fight by presenting 5,000 PPE to members of the media.”

This comes after calls from members of the public for government support for security materials and money for the NCCE.
The group has complained about a shortage of funds that hinders its job of educating the public on civic issues.
Ghana has currently registered 4,700 positive cases of Covid-19 with five of these critically ill patients. However, 22 deaths have been recorded, while another 494 have recovered after treatment.
The President noted that the 4,700 positive cases have been identified and isolated to curb the possible spread of the disease.
