Inter and Madrid catch up in Group B

After beating Inter the last time in Group B, Real Madrid comes third on matchday four, one point behind leaders Borussia Mönchengladbach. While they would actually still be guaranteed to qualify with two wins after tonight, even if they drew or lost to Inter, they’d have a serious job on their hands to finish up.

Zidane will be aware of the fact their second place in the group stage last season left them with a round of 16 draw against Manchester City – with whom they lost. If they had headed their section, they would have tied one of Atalanta, Chelsea, Dortmund, Lyon, Napoli or Tottenham.

As for Inter, Antonio Conte’s side sits at the bottom of the middle stage with only two points to his name, and he needs to get some wins on the board soon..

Given that it’s such a tight group, they won’t be completely out of their minds if they draw with Madrid tonight, but, realistically anything other than three points and they will be fast approaching Vienna territory good night.
