Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has made a new admission about his love for the club while looking for a new team.

Wilshere is currently a free agent after being released by West Ham in the summer.

The injury-prone playmaker, still just 28 years old, does not appear to be in line to join a new club anytime soon.

And the English international has admitted that there is a club who would love to be replaced.

He told the ITV Football Football Show: “Listen, you never know. I’m an Arsenal man. There’s nothing, I haven’t spoken to anyone or anything, but that would be the dream.”

“I’m not stupid to know that there is probably no chance of it happening, but I’m an Arsenal man, I love the club and I want to see it do well.”

Wilshere also revealed what he has heard about current Gunners boss Mikel Arteta from those within the club, and praised the Spaniard’s efforts thus far.

“I heard it’s really good,” he added. “Many people who were there when I was there have left, but some are still there.

“It’s really practical, it’s really managed by the coach, it’s what I’ve heard, he knows what he wants and where he wants his players to be.

“He wants to work hard every session and I think you can see when he came in.”

Finally, Wilshere gave his verdict on the debacle that involved Mesut Ozil and his omission to play in teams for this season.

The English international has endorsed Arteta, but admits that the current setup lacks the creative spark that his former teammate Ozil would offer.

But the midfielder has been taken aback by Ozil's treatment, saying that `` many teams in Europe would want him. ''

“I don’t know what happened there, but when you look, he’s crying out for an Ozil type player,” Wilshere told Dubai outlet The National.

“Especially with the quality that they have from the beginning, with things like [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang and [Alexandre] Lacazette, players who would thrive with someone like that.

“I think Arteta knows what he’s doing. He has a plan, it’s going to take some time and I think he will eventually pull it off. “
