Red Devils defender believes striker may take captain’s armband at Old Trafford someday
Harry Maguire has said that his Manchester United teammate Marcus Rashford is the most talented player he has ever played with.
Maguire spent two seasons in Leicester City and had spells at Hull and Sheffield United before moving to Old Trafford in the summer of 2019, and the center-back has been part of the England team since 2017, giving him the opportunity to play with a lot of talented footballers.
But the club captain believes Rashford is the best in the group and has tipped the academy graduate to take the captain’s armband at some point.
“I have always spoken highly of Marcus when I was with him in England. I cannot speak highly enough of him. I think he will have an exceptional career,” Maguire told Manchester United’s official podcast.
“I think as a club, you should have a captain and trust him, but you must spread the responsibility for leadership in the group. Marcus is there and he struggles in every game, he’s obviously missing out on a serious injury right now, but he’s struggling to come back and rarely misses games.
“He always wants to be available. I think you can see around the place and on and off the field as well, he’s excellent with his charity work, which is great to see.
“On the field, as I said, he has surprised me. He is the most talented player I have ever played with and I am sure he will be a wonderful player for this club.”

Rashford has spent the past few months sidelined with a back injury. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful he will see the return of the England international if the Premier League returns from his coronavirus suspension, along with another player who has missed much of the season due to injury.
