Chelsea Transfer Roundup: Giroud Eyed January Departure, Tomori Loan Change Possible – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Score, Results

Chelsea’s recent form in both the Premier League and Champions League suggests that the January transfer window could be quiet, particularly after a summer of lavish spending.

The likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy have settled down well after big money moves to Stamford Bridge.

But Chelsea could still be busy in terms of spending, with several fringe players tied to exits.

And here are all the latest Chelsea transfer rumors, involving a World Cup winner and two of the club’s academy graduates.

Giroud could be allowed to leave in January

Chelsea can allow Olivier Giroud to leave the club in January, according to Athletic.

The forward is intent on moving if he doesn’t start playing more regularly, with just seven appearances to his name this season.

French coach Didier Deschamps has told Giroud that he must be a constant starter at club level to earn a spot on the national team before next summer’s Euro Cup.

And Chelsea is reportedly considering selling the 34-year-old as a “thank you” for his service over the past two years.

“Oli is very important in our team, he will always want to play more,” Lampard said before Tuesday’s Champions League game against Rennes.

“I want him to be here, but I have a good relationship with him, if he feels different we will have that conversation.

“I saw the quotes from Oli’s agent and didn’t really think about them much. I understand that he wants to play, but for me it has to do with the strength of the squad. I think he has a great contribution to us ”.

Chelsea open to loan from Tomori

Fikayo Tomori may be loaned out in January after falling through the pecking order at Chelsea, the Telegraph reports.

The 22-year-old made his breakthrough with Frank Lampard last season, but has seen his opportunities limited so far this season following the arrival of Thiago Silva.

The recent involvement of Antonio Rudiger suggests that Tomori is now Chelsea’s fifth central defender, and Andreas Christensen is also an option.

And it could mean that Tomori is now considered in excess of short-term requirements. There are likely to be several suitors for the young man, who was the subject of interest during the summer.

Chelsea urged not to make the Hudson-Odoi decision

Glenn Hoddle has urged Chelsea to give Callum Hudson-Odoi more playing time rather than putting him on loan.

The 19-year-old has seen his opportunities limited this season following the arrivals of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech in the summer.

And that has led to suggestions that it could be lent to Hudson-Odoi.

“It’s a shame that a couple of fantastic foreign players made it to Stamford Bridge and that obviously brought him down in the pecking order. From what I’ve seen, when he comes off the bench or plays for the under-21s (of England), he still has his confidence right now, ”Hoddle said on his podcast.

“But obviously if this continues, where he is not going to have many outings, this will be a mental problem for him.

“So I hope he has enough football to get him back to his best level. Now he has overcome his injury, which was difficult with the Achilles tendon, but now he has overcome it and is 100% fit.

“You wouldn’t think Chelsea wanted to give him up, but he’s not playing. He needs to play a little football, these few years are so important to him, he needs to have some football to start, and he can only do it while on the field. “
