The Manchester United manager also revealed that he is eager to rest star midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken in favor of an increase in the day’s squads, as he believes that isolation affects the minds of those who do not participate.
Solskjaer is preparing his team for a meeting with Istanbul Basaksehir in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
As well as having the opportunity to make five substitutes, which reduces the chances of players getting fatigued, you will also be able to select a team for the matchday larger than allowed in the Premier League.
When United traveled to Istanbul in early November, Solskjaer had 12 players on the bench during the 2-1 loss.

The extended day rosters allowed in Europe give coaches more options from a tactical point of view, but Solskjaer feels there is an intangible benefit in that players benefit mentally from being involved rather than isolated at home.
“So I like the five substitutes, I also like the size of the teams because the players feel involved, especially during the lockdown,” Solskjaer said. “Sometimes if they tell you you’re not on the team, you have to stay home and you can’t go see your friend or watch the game with a friend.
“That is another mental well-being that we have to take care of with the players, so the Champions League, I like it.”
United rank first in Group H of the Champions League ahead of Tuesday’s game, but their position is uncertain following the defeat in Turkey on November 4.
Solskjaer can’t afford to rotate his squad, but has admitted that he wants to give midfielder Bruno Fernandes a break at some point.
The Portuguese is central to the way United play, but the Red Devils are heading into an 11-game span before the turn of the year and Solskjaer wants to give their star man a break.
“Bruno is not going to be able to play every game, that’s for sure,” Solskjaer said. “So when he only played a game and a half for Portugal during the international break, he was very happy.”
After the game with Basaksehir, United travels to Southampton and that may be a game that Fernandes will not be able to play, as immediately after that game there is a clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
