Brigitte Dzogbenuku, standard-bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) says that if power is voted into, the PPP will operate as an “incorruptible government.”
Speaking in Joy news‘AM Show, explained that corruption will become unappealing and measures will be instituted to prevent government officials from being tempted to engage in corrupt practices.
“Let’s start to get away from the idea that everyone will be corrupt; I won’t and PPP won’t. We are saying that we will have an incorruptible government and we want to put the measures in place ”, he added.
Ms. Brigitte also accused previous governments of deliberately allocating insufficient resources to the National Commission for Civic Education, which explains the disempowerment of many Ghanaians and their lack of awareness of national issues.
“What has been is that governments of the past have for lack of a better word enjoyed Ghanaian ‘ignorance’ of politics, so the less they know, the more dedicated they are,” he said.
Ms. Dzogbenuku stated that the Progressive People’s Party will empower the electorate through political education by overhauling the NCCE.
“I want the NCCE to have better resources to educate people, and that is something that the PPP will do when we are in government; to provide resources to the NCCE. “
