Ebusua Dwarfs coach Ernest Thompson launched a scathing attack on referee Joshua Samadji claiming he awarded a ‘dubious penalty’ against his team in a 2-0 loss at Techiman Eleven Wonders on Friday.
The enraged coach insists the center referee campaigned against his team after they lost at Nana Ameyaw Park in the Ghana Premier League match.
The referee signaled the penalty on a penalty that was eventually converted by veteran Tetteh Nortey.
But television replays show the ball didn’t hit the Dwarfs’ defender’s hand despite being close to the action.
Fans on social media also berated the center referee for his poor performance after multiple replays signaled a shocking decision by the match referee.
And Dwarfs coach Ernest Thompson has been livid with the referee’s performance.
“This level of refereeing is not allowed. It is shocking and incredible,” Thompson enraged. “We had similar kinds of calls but he ignored them.
“What kind of arbitration is this?” He asked angrily. “The refereeing affected the performance of my boys.
“He gave my son a yellow card for that dubious penalty and later sent him for a second card”
“He got a red card. NO! NO! We have to improve our game in refereeing.
“It’s a terrible performance from the referee.
“Last year we came here and the same thing happened. It’s bad. I complained about refereeing before the game and here we are.”
Referee Joshua Samadji has been under the line of fire after another bad refereeing after the second day of the Ghana Premier League match.
Tetteh Nortey scored a penalty and a fine shot from Prince Okraku helped Wonders Wonders to victory at home.
