The late former president of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings
The western region branch of the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) will hold a vigil on Friday, November 20, in honor of the late former President Flt. Jerry John Rawlings.
Consequently, the five electoral districts in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Area will meet and hold the vigil from 6:00 pm to 12:00 pm in the Sekondi Kundum Square, popularly known as Komfoase.
A terse statement signed by the party’s Regional Communications Officer, Richard Kirk Mensah, said the office in the remaining 12 constituencies is also expected to hold similar events.
“The party will proceed to organize a walk in memory of our great founder on Sunday, November 22, 2020.”
In addition, it says: “The five subway districts will start the walk from their respective districts and then converge at PWD Takoradi Park to culminate the event.
The statement said the event will be attended by former cadres, past and present regional party executives, former state ministers, parliamentary candidates and is open to anyone who believes in the ideals of its founder.
