Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okaku has been appointed Second Vice President of Zone B of the West African Football Federations Union (WAFU), in accordance with the union’s statutes.
Mr. Okraku was elected president of the GFA a year ago and has changed the narrative by being transparent and accountable to the football fraternity.
This, along with the #bringBackTheLove agenda, has won the hearts of many football-loving Ghanaians.
He has a BA from the University of Ghana, trained as a journalist at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and also an MBA from the University of Liverpool. While in the UK, he also received several certificates in marketing, hospitality and tourism management.
He is a canny soccer manager and his name is synonymous with soccer management, and he sits on various executive committees of the local soccer governing body as well as the senior national team, Black Stars.
He again served as Administrative Manager of the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA) from 2008 to 2010.
Before becoming the head of the FA, he was Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, a position he held perfectly to the admiration of all.
Therefore it is certainly well equipped to hold the fort on the West African zonal front.
