With six weeks until the January transfer window opens, the rumors are starting to pick up speed.
And given their defensive injury crisis, Liverpool could be one of the most active clubs in the Premier League during the winter window.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is expected to miss Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk as a center-back partner for much of the season due to severe knee injuries.
And while the German manager has shown faith in young defenders in recent weeks, he may be forced to go for a short-term solution in January as the club tries to retain its Premier League title.

Inter and Real join the Gini race
Real Madrid and Inter Milan have increased their interest in Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona have also been linked to the Dutchman, who has yet to sign a contract extension at Anfield.
Wijnaldum’s current deal expires in 2021, meaning it is free to negotiate a pre-contract deal with European clubs starting in January.
However, it is believed that Barca’s current financial concerns may rule them out of the race, leaving the door open for rivals Real or Inter.
Wijnaldum joined Liverpool from Newcastle United in 2016, helping the Reds win the Champions League and Premier League during their four years in Merseyside.
Liverpool tracks ‘next Bale’
Liverpool will face competition from Real Madrid for the signing of Isak Bergmann Johannesson, according to Central Defense.
The Reds are believed to have scouted the Icelandic teenager, who is the son of former Burnley midfielder Joey Gudjonsson.
Johannesson, who has been compared to Gareth Bale, currently plays for IFK Norrkoping in Sweden and has three goals and eight assists in 25 games during the 2020 Allsvenskan season.
“The interest is huge and it is no secret,” Stig Torbjornsen, Norrkoping’s scout chief, told Fotbol Direkt.
“It is clear that he is an extremely interesting player and many (clubs) have shown great interest. This happens when a player is of a good age and plays for a good club ”.
Bayern fear missing Upamecano
Bayern Munich fear losing the opportunity to sign the defendant RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano with Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool, all interested in the Frenchman, according to Sport Bild.
Upamecano has drawn a lot of interest from clubs across Europe after helping Leipzig reach the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.
However, an offer of around £ 40 million may be necessary to remove the 22-year-old from his current employers, a fee Bayern cannot justify in the pandemic landscape.
