The absence of Emile Smith Rowe in the official Arsenal first team photograph has been explained, while the inclusion of Mesut Ozil has also drawn attention.
On Wednesday afternoon, North Londoners shared snapshots of their 2020-21 team on their social media channels.
Ozil was one of the surprise inclusions, with the midfielder in the center of the first team despite being out of play with Mikel Arteta.
It left many wondering why the German playmaker was included and the eagle-eyed Gooners also quickly realized that Smith Rowe was not included in the photograph, prompting many questions.
However, the omission of the attacking midfielder was unintentional. In fact, there is a very simple explanation that he is not in the photo.
On the same day the photo was taken, Smith Rowe starred in Arsenal U23’s 6-0 win over Blackburn, in which he scored a double.
Smith Rowe, 20, has yet to appear in Arsenal’s first team this season, prompting suggestions that he could be loaned in January.
Huddersfield Town was eager to reacquire his services in the summer, but could not get his man.
The championship team is open to pursuing his signing in January, and club president Phil Hodgkinson recently said: “We asked about some without the slightest doubt.
