Real Madrid and Barcelona will renew their rivalry on Saturday afternoon at the Camp Nou, and the Whites have many questions to answer this week.
So far it has been an eventful October for Real Madrid, and that’s not a good thing. After losing to Cádiz last weekend 1-0 when they underestimated their opponent with a suboptimal starting XI, Real fared even worse in the Champions League, losing 3-2 to a severely depleted Shakhtar Donetsk.
Real Madrid now face a crucial Clásico on Saturday against Barcelona on the road. If they can’t get a positive result, the frenzy will really start.
To prevent that from happening, these five players must be excellent this weekend for Los Merengues.

Raphael Varane offered a master class in the last Clásico, extinguishing the threat carried by the Barcelona attackers. The Blaugrana have players who can make brilliant runs to catch a defense off guard, but Varane turned them all off.
However, Varane is not coming off a good showing against Shakhtar Donetsk. Once again, he was unstable in the Champions League without Sergio Ramos at his side, so there are doubts about Varane’s leadership.
But Varane never hides from criticism. Answer the call and recover. Expect him to have a great performance against Barcelona in a match where the microscope will focus directly on Ramos and himself.
