Real Madrid bounced back on Saturday by beating Barcelona 3-1, but can they continue with their first Champions League win of the year?
Borussia Monchengladbach could be a tough challenge for Real Madrid in the second round of the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League. After falling 3-2 to Shakhtar Donetsk last week, Los Blancos are sure not to take Marco Rose’s squad lightly, especially after they impressed against Romelu Lukaku and Inter Milan.
Here are five key players to watch at Real Madrid this Tuesday at Borussia-Park.
Real Madrid LW Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard has yet to make an appearance this season, but is on the official squad for this week’s game after recovering from an injury unrelated to the ankle problems that have caused him problems since last fall.
The Belgian left winger is Real Madrid’s main superstar and can help Real Madrid develop their potential as great rivals in the Champions League. With a healthy Hazard, Real seemed almost unstoppable last fall. But without Hazard, Real often looks normal in attack.
He will not start against Gladbach, as Zinedine Zidane must relieve the former Chelsea player. But he could play 15-30 minutes off the bench against the Foals. His status and playing time on Tuesday will be one of the great stories to follow.
