Five people died at the scene, while seven are in critical condition after a frontal collision involving two passenger cars at Gomoa Adam on the Kasoa-Cape-Coast highway.
According to a surviving passenger, they were traveling from Kasoa to Cape Coast when they suddenly saw the driver of the Ford vehicle trying to pass a car.
He said the driver immediately entered his lane and collided with his vehicle causing a somersault that caused the instant death of five people, while seven were seriously injured.
Apam Catholic Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Paul Archer explained that fourteen passengers were involved in the accident and five of them were all dead men.
He said his team is currently struggling to get a referral for seriously injured people, but added that their conditions have stabilized.
This accident comes less than 24 hours after an accident in Kyekyewere near Suhum claimed 14 lives on Tuesday.
