The Executive Director of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference, Selasi Koffi Ackom, has held a press conference here in Accra to launch and set a date for the next GITFIC conference, which happens to be the AfCFTA Edition.
During the launch, Selasi Koffi Ackom, CEO of GITFIC, mentioned that the conference was held for the first time in Ghana in April 2017. It saw a collaboration between the Private Business Federation (PEF) and his organization.
He explained, “This year’s conference will be educational, it will be directive, it will have authority and, most importantly, it will expose the participants to everything there is to know about the African Continental Free Trade Area.”

This year’s conference is themed “Optimizing AfCFTA for Africans, the role of logistics infrastructure.” The conference will address these important and sensitive sub-topics such as physical connectivity, digital connectivity, infrastructure deficits, tariff reforms, non-tariff reforms, port harmonization, a continental single payment, the harmonization system, a harmonized trading platform for member countries. , a harmonized continental cybersecurity system, the standardization of the commercial protocols of the member states, et al.
According to Mr. Ackom, the speakers at the 4th GITFIC conference will be from various technical fields from more than five countries on the continent, including Nigeria, Gambia, Sudan, Morocco, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Zambia.
