The leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has scoffed at the ruling government’s popular slogan (4More 4Nana) in the run-up to the December presidential and parliamentary elections.
He said the slogan is designed simply to add more debt and weaken the economy, as it has become the hallmark of the New Patriotic Party (PNP) since it came to power.
“They have not done anything with the money, but they are asking for four more. Are there four more to add more debt to existing debt? Mr. Mahama, speaking at a City Council meeting on Cape Coast in the Central Region, recounted how his government used national revenues.
He claimed that his government incurred a debt of GH ¢ 56 billion, but President Akufo-Addo, in his first term, has recorded a whopping 140 billion of debt.
“What have you used the 140 billion your government borrowed for?” questioned the NDC flag bearer
