The state has charged 29 of the 51 people who are detained for trying to separate from Ghana with the felony of treason.
The 29 also face five additional counts of conspiracy to commit a crime, causing unlawful harm, gun riot and participating in a campaign by a prohibited organization.
In court Wednesday, the prosecution led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sylvester Asare filed an amended charge sheet containing the above charges against the 29 people.
Accused persons
The defendants are Nene Kwaku Agblorm alias Joshua Tawiah Agblorm, Ernest Kpevu, Devine Seddoh, Bright Klutsey, Selasi Gbadago, Gilbert Nyadzinyo, Benjamin Gabadago, Felix Sosa, Lawrence Nyadzinor and Excel Liberty Aheto Kuegbesika.

However, the Accra Circuit Court dismissed the 22 remaining indicted for their respective roles in the disturbing incidents in the Volta region.
Prosecutor Sylvester Asare told the court that they have gone far with the investigations and prayed that the court would not grant bail to the 29 remaining defendants.
The prosecution did not give reasons to the court as to why the 22 were fired.
According to him, the preventive detention of the accused will speed up the prosecution of the investigations.
The lawyers for the defendants Theophilus Donkor pleaded with the court to admit the defendants released on humanitarian bail.
According to him, his clients have well-meaning members of society to back them up. He said that the defendants also have their permanent address.
But the court presided over by Her Honor Rosemary Baah Torsu ordered the preventive detention of the 29 defendants while postponing the case until November 19, 2020.
In a related development, another group of 27 of the defendants currently in pretrial detention will reappear on November 9.
