Christopher Nettey’s first goal of the season helped Asante Kotoko win his outstanding match of matchday 7 of the Ghana Premier League against Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0 on Wednesday.
The defender’s second-half goal resolved the close contest in favor of the Porcupine Warriors, who have now established themselves as title contenders after a slow start to the season.
The victory takes them to third place in the table, just one point between them and the league leaders Karela United.
It was a game with few chances, but Kotoko left Cape Coast Stadium all smiles thanks to her right-back Nettey.

Kotoko had a penalty appeal rejected by the referee after it appeared that Gama had been fouled in the area at halftime.
The second half was no different than the first, with Kotoko doing her best for the victory.
They scored in the 70th minute after an effective play by their two defenders Christopher Nettey and Patrick Asmah.
Asmah sent a good cross into the area and Nettey headed for the net.
Kotoko fought back well to protect the lead and extend his unbeaten streak in the league with interim coach Johnson Smith to five games.
