A family in Adjei Kojo Suncity in Tema West Township is in shock after finding their daughter in a pool of blood at their home on September 4.
According to the mother of the deceased, Salomey Terkpertey, she was with her daughter at the store where she sells food before the incident.
Speaking to Issabella Ave of Adom News, she said her 10-year-old daughter, Nyamyo Nartey, was sleepy and had to bring the initiative home.
When she returned home around 10:30 pm, Salomey found her daughter lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit.
The deceased’s father, Frederick Nartey, said he had traveled to Kede in the Eastern Region when he received news of his daughter’s death.
He claimed that after the CID examined the body, they revealed that Nyamyo had also been stabbed and had other cuts on her body.
Mr. Nartey, who rents a room in a compound house, said he was surprised that no one in the house witnessed the incident.
The tenants are also calling for a deeper investigation to uncover the perpetrators behind the crime.
Meanwhile, the police in the area have collected the body and started investigations.
