Georgia football winners and losers after 2021 National Sign Innings Day

Winner: Georgia’s 2022 Recruitment Class

The Bulldogs ’single commitment on National Signing Day really came for its next recruiting class. Georgia earned a commitment from 4-star defensive tackle bear Alexander. He is the 140th ranked player in the 2022 recruitment cycle, the 22nd ranked player in Texas and the 9th defensive tackle.

Alexander, listed at 6-foot-3 and 325 pounds, is Georgia’s second defensive lineman in the 2022 cycle, as he joins Tire West. Georgia has a chance to join an elite defensive line in the 2022 cycle, with Michael Williams and Christine Miller set to make announcements in the coming months.

Georgia is now the No. 2 ranked class behind Ohio state only in the 2022 recruitment cycle. The Bulldogs could start this cycle much faster than in the past, as the Bulldogs committed just three for the 2021 class at this stage last season. In 2019, the Bulldogs have three 2020 commitments on National Sign Innings Day.

With early sign-in periods allowing programs to complete their work, they have used the month of January in this case to really focus on the next recruitment class in 2022, as teams try to put the final touch on the current.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart gave a reason why the Bulldogs have had more success in this cycle when it comes to working further than in the past.

Smart said, “We have a little more time now because you’re on less 2021 kids because your class is so full. “We’ve always put a lot of emphasis on the next class. It just doesn’t feel that way it has changed. Those kids are making previous decisions from the point of view that they won’t get a visit, or that they won’t get a chance to go places and do things. ”

Loser: Recruitment against Alabama

Wealthy people continue to get richer in college league football, and Alabama has Jeff Bezos. Crimson Recruitment officially locked the all-time high tide class on Wednesday. Then he went out and added 4-star safety Tarian Arnold to his top.

Georgia ended up as Arnold’s runner, making her the only new prospect in the 2021 cycle where she happened to be. Alabama beat Georgia for prospects like 5-star pass Rusher Dallas Turner, defensive tackle Tim Keenan and offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson.

Alabama, however, has not beaten Georgia for just a few chances. They beat everyone. Nick Suban landed 5-star offensive action Tommy Brockmeyer outside Texas. Alabama got a 5-star defensive face Damon Payne outside of Michigan.

The Crimson Tide also dominates the state of Florida. Alabama signed seven of the state’s top 15 prospects, although one of them, Jesse Letham, played at IMG Academy after coming from Wisconsin. Florida, the state of Florida and Miami are combined for four of the top 15 prospects in the state of Florida.

The 2020 Alabama team was the strongest in recent memory. He is going to replace a number of key players on that team. But with this 2021 sign-in class, it’s clear that the Crimson Tide has the power to stay.

Winner: Dan Lanning

Georgia’s defensive coordinator decided to stay in Georgia in protest of taking a job as a defensive coordinator in Texas. That decision seems to have paid off quite literally.

Lanning was one of Georgia’s three assistants who grew up. Dell McGee earned 6 675,000 to ,000 800,000. Todd Harley raised his salary from ,000 400,000 to 50 450,000 in the 2021 season.

They both paid off compared to Lanning to raise Lan 550,000, as it would now make $ 1.7 million. It corresponds to some other defensive coordinator of the game.

Georgia also signed several top defensive prospects in the 2021 signing class, such as 5-star linebackers Xavian Soare and Smeil Mondon, as well as 4-star defensive backs, Nyland Green and David Daniels.

Georgia Defense didn’t live up to the hype in 2020, but it still led the nation to the defense and the S.E.C. per yard per game. He didn’t make a difference against the best teams in the country, but the Jorgia defense was still one of the best units in college football.

In 2021 L21 Ning will cut his work with a new look secondary for him. But it is clear he is seen as a high-level defensive coordinator in the country, as his salary now shows.

Loser: Excitement

Smart admitted that yesterday was not a normal signing day experience. Georgia did not make a commitment, with little sign of a 2021 cycle prospect as the Bulldogs signed all 20 members of its No. 3 signed class in December.

“Talking about signing classes is kind of anticlimactic because they’ve been around since mid-year and they’ve been able to study, get into school and start workouts with us since we’ve focused on them,” Smart said. . “

Of Georgia’s 20 signies, 16 are already on campus and are able to go through a spring drill with the team. Traditionally due to epidemics that number is much larger than that.

Since Georgia’s game against Missouri on Wednesday, December 12, the Bulldogs have landed on only one player who will sign with the class, the Tigers. In the 2020 cycle, Georgia resolved the commitments of 10 players who will sign with Georgia after the December 7 game against LSU in the SEC Championship game.

Georgia were the only team away from unbearable Wednesdays, as neither Ohio State nor Clemson added any prospects to their respective categories. The lack of signatures on National Sign Inning Day is a byproduct of COVID-19, or if the epidemic is managed when CoVID-19 only caters to more players than signed in in December, it would be worthwhile to monitor the progression.

Winner: Will Musk mp mp

South Carolina paid મ 12.9 million to its mush mp to keep its head coach. He will now work in Georgia next season at F-Field capacity earning 300,000.

“He has already done a lot of activities to help me [and] Helps our staff. “He will be able to help coach, and he will work on the defensive side of the ball. It is very helpful to have a person who has been the head coach in two places in our conference. ”

There were so many reasons to live in Georgia. His son is a walk-quarter or quarterback. He is also her alma mater and had a long relationship with Smart.

As head coach, Mashchamp could not work as head coach in either Florida or South Carolina. But he’s still the top defensive mind in the game. He also has a strong track record of developing defensive backs, something Georgia can actually use right now.

Smart doesn’t believe that the days of on-field coaching are over. Just looking at Alabama to see how season-two catches as an analyst can help rehabilitate and revitalize coaches.

“His family’s attention has been here lately, because I know he feels like he’s moved his family across the country,” Smart said. “He has this opportunity to come back and be with him and watch his son play. “
